Reader profile research

In a reader profile, they look at what type of people read their magazines, such as whether they are dominantly male or female, and this is so they know how to produce their magazines, this is also the reason they look at their ages. The purpose of a reader profile is purely so they can evaluate what their readers like so that they can produce something they know their readers will enjoy reading.

Demographic Table

Demographic information
Demographic information is hard data and is not questionable these include age, gender, income and location. From the Demographic table E refers to retired people, pensioners and students. It is dominantly Unemployed people who are unable to spend a lot on magazine subscriptions. Examples of occupations in D is a cleaner or a building site worker. and C2 is someone that works on a building site but is actually a brick layer or plumbers etc.  C1 could include a receptionist, they are likely to have a fair amount of money but not massive amounts. B includes: nurses, social workers and teachers, There occupations include making decisions independently. Finally, A refers to people who have disposable income such as civil engineers, architects and lawyers, therefore producers like yo target them as they have money that they can afford to spend on magazine subscriptions.

Psychographic information
Psychographic information is purely opinion based and this is gathered through questionnaires. Some questions could include; What genre of music do you like? What bands and artists do you like? How much money do you spend on music concerts a year? What's your favourite bands? How do you consume music? How often do you listen to music per week? What devices do you use to listen to music?
